Utopians know that stars are more beautiful than diamonds. They know there is enough to go around. They value creativity. Today I read about a tiny luxury flat in London, bought for a million pounds and resold four months later for one and a half million – a flat that wont even be built for several years. It’s just air. As non-existent as Utopia.
Now that even thin air and water have been commodified, maybe its time for a different audacity, another kind of dreaming. Utopia is already here in the sweet moments we share with those we love and random strangers whose eyes we catch. We know it slips in between the cracks of the everyday.
